This website is brought to you by Sparling Benham & Brough Trading as Sparlings Solicitors (hereafter referred to as Sparling Benham & Brough). We take the privacy of our website users very seriously. We ask that you read this Privacy Policy ("the Policy") carefully as it contains important information about how we will use your personal data.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018, Sparling Benham & Brough is the "data controller" (ie the company who is responsible for, and controls the processing of, your personal data).

We will obtain personal data about you (such as your name, address, telephone number and email address) whenever you forward an email enquiry to us or complete any of the Contact Forms requesting further information by email or telephone.

We will also obtain personal information about you in respect of any matters on which you seek our advice/assistance and as requested in the Contact Forms on this website. If you volunteer such information you will be consenting to our processing it for the purposes of assessing your matter and advising you as to how we may be able to assist you.

If you become a client of the firm we will send you a Client Care Information letter. This letter will include a tick box where you have the right to opt in to hear from us on other matters which may be of interest to you such as but not limited to:-

Direct marketing including communications about other services we offer, special offers, events, blog posts and articles that may be of interest to you including for a reasonable time after you have ceased to be a client.

Whilst we will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal data, you acknowledge that the use of the internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal data which is transferred from you or to you via the internet.

If you give us information on behalf of someone else, you confirm that the other person has agreed that you can:

You of course have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your data free of charge. If you wish to exercise this right you should:

Professional and Other Matters

We will be aware of and alert to communication challenges such as hearing or learning disabilities, language barrier and any cross-culture issues.

We are registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority pursuant to No. 00126147.

We are registered for Value Add Tax under registration number 102207830.

As required by the Solicitors Conduct Rules this firm is covered by a Professional Indemnity Insurance so that should we be negligent a claim can be made. This applies throughout the geographical area of the UK. Reference to details of the current PII provider is mentioned in your CCI and can be found on our website and there is a notice provided in our waiting rooms. We refer also to Clause 10. If you require further information about our cover then please let us know.

We are qualified to advise on matters of English Law only and English Law will govern the terms of our contract with you.

The normal hours of business are Monday to Thursday inclusive 9am to 5.15pm and on Fridays 9am to 5pm. By special arrangement appointments can be made outside these working hours.

The words &working day& excludes all Saturdays and Sundays and Bank or other Public Holidays. Because we are Investors in People and have suitable consideration for our staff and because it is important to have a period of rest there is normally an extended period of closure between Christmas Eve and the 2nd January inclusive in each respective year.
