Martyn Carr

Wills and Probate

Martyn joined the firm as an Articled Clerk in 1980 and qualified as a solicitor in 1982. He became a Partner in 1984 and was previous our Senior Partner, a role he held from 1996 until the end of March 2021, when he became a Consultant with the firm. Martin specialises in wills, non-contentious Probate and Administration of Estates, Inheritance Tax Planning and advice on minimising tax implications for the family whether by Trust, Gift or Will.

Martyn also advises on and prepares Lasting Powers of Attorney and assists elderly clients in managing their financial affairs.

Martyn is a past president of the Tendring Hundred Farmers Club and a past president of the Suffolk & North Essex Law Society.

Martyn is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and is based at our Manningtree Office.
