Lloyd North

Lloyd North was born in the north west of England and received his secondary education in north Wales.  He studied for his law degree at London University, graduating in 1986.  He returned to his home town of Chester to study for his Law Society final examinations and then joined our firm as a trainee Solicitor (then known as "an articled clerk") in August 1987.  He has been with us ever since, becoming a Partner in 1994.

Initially Lloyd specialised in Matrimonial and Family law and some Criminal law but, in 1994, moved into civil litigation, acting for Claimants and Defendants in a wide range of matters.  He continues this practice and has also taken on primary responsibility for the firm's employment law. He is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel. He is also a member of the Law Society Children Panel and represents children, Guardians and parents.  He enjoys advocacy and appears at Court regularly.

Lloyd and his wife, Jan, have a young daughter who keeps them very busy (born in June 2003).  Lloyd fends off what he sees as advancing years by as much exercise as possible.  At the moment this includes weight-training and the Japanese martial art of Aikido in which he has a first Dan black belt and is currently working towards his second Dan. On the basis of "if you can't beat 'em", Jan has taken up the martial art herself and is slowly catching up! Lloyd is also an enthusiastic dog trainer and Jan takes their Doberman to visit patients at the local hospital where he is their regular 'PAT' dog.
